Process Speech

Assignment: Explain how to do or make something. This should be a step-by-step process that involves tangible objects (things you can see, touch, etc.). Choose a process that must be done in a certain order, such as cooking a meal; do not choose a topic that can be done in a variety of ways, such as how to play football. Choose a process that is relatively complex, something that your classmates might not know how to do. Do not choose a topic that is too simple, such as how to tie your shoes.
Length: A minimum of 3 to a maximum of 5-7 minutes.
Preparation: follow the procedure given below.
Visual Aid: You must use a poster as a visual aid during your speech. Posters might include drawings, diagrams, lists of materials or tools needed, or whatever is appropriate for your topic. Make sure the lettering/drawings are large enough to be seen from all parts of the classroom. For additional tips on developing visual aids, see textbook.
Grading: Your speech will be evaluated in these areas--

Speech Analysis
Ø Study the comments on your evaluation sheet and the recording of your speech. On your own paper, copy and answer the following questions in 2-4 complete sentences each.
Ø Return your work by the due date. This assignment is important to your development as a speaker, so it gets a double daily grade of 40 points.

2. What are your weaknesses?
3. In your opinion, what improvements could have been made on this speech?
4. Name at least two areas that you can work on for your next speech.
