Exemptions & grades will be announced no later than Monday, Dec. 12. All students must bring their textbooks to class on Thursday, Dec. 8. If you do not have your textbook turn in by Monday, Dec. 12, you will not be exempt regardless of your grades and attendance record. When you bring your textbook to the exam, you will be given your grades and told whether you are exempt or not. If exempt, you do not have to take the exam, but you will have to remain in class unless you have a checkout card.
Grading: This test counts as 20 % of your semester grade. Your first nine-week grade is 40 %, and your second nine-week grade counts as 40 %. I will be following the Autauga County Board of Education exemption policy. If you are exempt but wish to take the exam to improve your grade, you may do so. If you are exempt and the exam grade does not improve your semester grade, it will not be counted; both nine-weeks grades will be averaged together as 50% each. In determining exemptions, absences and tardies for the entire semester will be counted, as indicated in the policy.
Exam Procedures: Bring your textbook and two sharpened pencils with you to the exam. Important: if you do not bring your book to turn in, the grade for your exam will be recorded as a zero until your book is returned. You will be asked to turn in your book before the exam begins. NO ONE will leave the room during the exam time, so take care of snack and restroom needs before the exam time. Please have pencils sharpened and be in your seat when the bell rings to begin the exam period. DO NOT bring any cards or electronic devices, but you may bring magazines or books (appropriate for the classroom) to read if you finish your exam early.
